Architectural Design
Description
Participants develop a set of architectural plans and related materials in response to an annual architectural design challenge and construct a physical, as well as a computer-generated model, to accurately depict their design. Participants must demonstrate an understanding of and aptitude for architectural design, the development of plans, modeling techniques and practice, and the awareness of the role that the built environment can play in human behavior and interactions.
2024-25 Design Challenge
Select a type of museum, and then design a museum to incorporate and reflect the objects that are displayed in the exhibits.

Event Deadlines
January 23, 2025
Upload pdf file
Students will need their Participant ID number, and password, from their advisor. Only the team captain will be able to upload the file.
Students will submit their portfolio, items a-f, for scoring. Items g-j are not required, but may be included.
Students will submit as a single, multi-page PDF document.
April 2025
Students will submit their portfolio and model on Wednesday evening.
Semifinalist list will be posted Friday afternoon.
Semifinalist interviews will take place Friday afternoon/evening.
Washington TSA Rules
To compete, students must:
Belong to a currently affiliated TSA chapter
Be registered (by their TSA advisor) for competition by December 20, 2024 ($30)
Compete in the January 23, 2025 virtual competition (see individual event pages for details)
Be selected as a top competitor in their event(s) and invited to participate at State
Number of competitors is dependent on specific event
Qualifying competitor lists will be published by February 10, 2025
State Conference registration week February 24-28, 2025 (see state conference page for details)
At the state level, 3 teams (may be a team of 1) per chapter may compete.
