2022 WTSA State Conference

The 2022 WTSA State Conference will be in-person at the Doubletree Seatac Hotel and Convention Center March 16-19, 2022.

Per updated Washington State requirements, all attendees will be required to wear masks, but vaccine/test proof will not be required.

 

STATE CONFERENCE REGISTRATION DEADLINE

Deadline Friday, February 11, 2022, at 5:00 PM

Students who registered for competition in December, AND met the mandatory event deadline in January, can register for the WTSA State Conference February 7-11, 2022.

Costs for Advisors and/or Students (includes hotel, 7 meals, and registration)

1 person per room - $689

2 people per room - $473 each

3 or 4 people per room - $388 each

Day rate

$160 for one day (includes lunch only)

$200 for two days (includes lunch only)

If your chapter wants to stay at the hotel, but opt out of meals, contact Jennifer Smith to discuss

COMPETITION REGISTRATION DEADLINE

All students who plan to compete this year will need to register for events between December 1-17, 2021 (deadline extended). Chapter advisors must complete the registration for students.

Cost: $30 per student (up to 6 events)

MANDATORY DEADLINE ALL COMPETITIVE EVENTS

  • Thursday, January 20, 2022

  • 5:00 PM

All Competitive Events, middle and high school, including Washington-Only events, have a MANDATORY deadline of 5:00 pm PST on Thursday, January 20, 2022.

This deadline is a required “qualification” for competition at the State or National TSA conferences.

Competitive Events

  • Students must meet the January 20 competition deadline in ALL events to qualify for the State Conference

  • Students who do not meet the deadline will be dropped from the event

  • Participants may compete in a maximum of 6 competitive events

  • Participants must register for each event in which they intend to compete by the registration deadline of Dec. 10. YOU MAY NOT ADD EVENTS AFTER THIS DATE.

  • Chapters are responsible for paying $30 each for all students who are registered as of Dec. 10.

  • Any event with no registered participants on Dec. 10 will be cancelled.

  • Events with fewer than 5 entries may be cancelled.

  • Students will receive judge feedback after the January 20 deadline.

Registration counts are used to determine schedule, space, and judging needs. 

Some events have early deadlines. Space and time are limited at the conference.

STATE Conference event signup

Students who met the December registration deadline, and the January event deadline, are qualified to register to compete at the WTSA State Conference.

  • The registration system will open February 7-11

  • Advisors can remove students from the list, remove events from students, change students on a team, or change team captain designations

  • Advisors cannot ADD students to events, nor ADD students to their registration list

  • Chapters will be responsible for paying for all students, advisors and chaperones who are registered as of February 11.

Please review the Competitive Events Guide in Total TSA for the complete rules for each event. Some rules may be modified at the State Conference (i.e. on-demand video will be 36 hours rather than 48 hours).

Washington TSA Rule Changes/ Updates

To allow us to better facilitate the competitive events based on our available space and schedule, WTSA has made modifications to the competitive events. Additionally, WTSA reserves the right to have fewer semifinalists than the rules call for or make other changes that are required at the conference in order to facilitate the events.
