In our ever changing world, the need for engineers has never been greater. Students are in need of ways to develop and demonstrate their science and math skills that differs from the traditional classroom. With this in mind, the Washington Technology Student Association and VEX Robotics are pleased to announce their newly formed partnership. This partnership allows Washington TSA’s members to develop their skills and explore careers in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) in the exciting hands-on atmosphere of robotics.

Students from across the State of Washington traveled to Denver, Co for the 31st Annual National Technology Student Association Conference.  They joined over 4,500 other students from across the country to compete in over 60 different STEM and leadership related competitions.  With a conference theme of Shape the Future, these students demonstrated their technical and leadership skills to prove they have what it takes to Shape the Future.  Please join Washington TSA in congratulating these students for their efforts:

In addition to these competitive event results, fourteen students received their Gold Achievement Award for their  accomplishments in the areas of leadership development, understanding technology, school/community service, and career/personal planning. Further, six Washington Students were inducted into the Technology Honor Society.
To complement all of the accomplishments of our students, Washington TSA’s Sate Advisor, Ross Short, was honored as the State Advisor of the Year by the Technology Student Association.  This award is presented each year to one State Advisor in the country for their work in promoting TSA and coordinating the State Association’s activities throughout the year.
In all it was an extremely successful conference for Washington State, and the members are looking forward to next year with great excitement.  Next year Washington TSA will host is State Conference March 25-27 at the Bellevue Hilton and National TSA will host the National conference in Baltimore, MD.   For more information please visit, www.washingtontsa.org or www.tsaweb.org.

Washington TSA is pleased to introduce the 2009-10 WTSA State Officer Team.  These individuals are charged with leading the organization by planning activities such as the State Conference, recruiting new members, and representing TSA at the regional, state and national levels.  The Officer Team will be:

On March 14th, the 26th annual Washington TSA State Conference came to a close.  This marked the end of one of our largest and most successful conference to date.  With 220 students and 25 advisors in attendance, over 75 volunteers, 16 vendors and post-secondary schools, and a whole lot of energy, this conference was a one of a kind experience for all.
